Make At Home Easter Treats For You And The Family!

As we are all advised to stay home this Easter Long Weekend we thought we would drop a few simple and low calorie chocolate treats for you to make at home with the family!

Chocolate Drops

Chocolate Drops

Ingredients:

80g Dark Chocolate (70+)

This amount made 16 individual drops at 25 - 30 calories each.

Your choice of toppings.

The toppings used here are almonds, sultanas, toasted coconut chips, pepitas & walnuts.

Instructions:

Line a baking tray with baking paper.

Simply break apart the chocolate pieces in a small bowl & melt down in short bursts (20 - 30secs) in the microwave. Stirring constantly between. When the chocolate is almost completely melted, stop microwaving & continue stirring until the whole amount is smooth.

Use a teaspoon to make dollops on baking paper. While the chocolate is still soft, place topping in the centre.

Place in the freezer for approx. 30mins to set, then store in the fridge.

Chocolate Almond & Date Balls

Chocolate Almond & Date Balls

Ingredients:

1 cup Slivered Almonds

1 cup Dates

3 Tbsp Cocoa Powder

2 Tbsp Coconut Oil - melted

Desiccated Coconut to coat finished date balls

Instructions:

Place dates, almonds, cocoa powder & melted oil in a food processor/blender and blitz until all ingredients have combined and are beginning to stick together. You can make the mixture as fine or coarse as you like.

Roll the mixture in your palms to create small tight balls.

Pour desiccated coconut into a bowl & roll each ball until completely covered.

Store in the fridge as they will become soft at room temperature.

The amount listed here makes 16 balls - at approx. 100 calories per ball.

Dark Chocolate Muesli Slice

Dark Chocolate Muesli Slice

Ingredients:

2 cups Quick Oats

1 cup Fruit Free Muesli

4 Tbsp Peanut Butter

3 Tbsp Honey

3 Tbsp Maple Syrup

1/2 tsp salt

70g Dark Chocolate (70+)

Instructions:

Line an 8” baking tray with baking paper.

In a large bowl combine all of the ingredients except the dark chocolate.

Stir well so all elements are combined.

Spread mixture on the prepared baking tray. Use the back of a metal spoon to spread, & then using another small piece of baking paper, press the mixture down firmly to compress.

Break apart the chocolate pieces in a small bowl & melt down in short bursts (20 - 30secs) in the microwave. Stirring constantly between. When the chocolate is almost completely melted, stop microwaving and continue stirring until the whole amount is smooth. Spread evenly across the muesli slice.

Place tray in the freezer for approx. 30 - 60 mins. Remove & cut into 16 pieces. Store in the fridge as they will become soft at room temperature. Each piece is approx. 150 calories.
