Healthy snacks for your next girls' night

Great friendships are what life is all about, and there’s no better way to enjoy your friends company than with a girl’s night in with delicious food! We’ve created a list of delicious and healthy snacks for your next girls’ night.

Cheese platter

Everybody loves a good cheese platter! A great way to serve a cheese platter (and to make it look colourful and amazing) is with a variety of veggie sticks. Filling up on vegetables like cherry tomatoes, celery, carrot and cucumber sticks is the perfect way to get extra vitamins, minerals and fibre, along-side the delicious cheese.

Crackers and dip

Sticking with lighter crackers like wafers or rice crackers will help cut down calories without losing any enjoyment. Dips like hummus and tzatziki go well and are full of nutrients and flavour.

Smoked salmon and lean shaved ham

These delicious, high protein foods make great additions to platters, and have less ‘unhealthy fat’ than other deli meats.

Popcorn

This classic snack is tasty, high in fibre and low in calories. Great for movie time!

Fruit platter

Go for whatever fruits are in season and the more colours the better.

Drinks

Try sparkling mineral water with some special additions – most cut up fruits work well, as well as berries, or cucumber and mint.

Main meals

Impress your friends with our Leek and dill chicken pie – perfect for nights in!

Salads

If you’ve got time on your hands, why not make several salads to go with your main meal. Salads don’t have to be boring – mix it up by adding nuts, seeds, grated or cubed cheese, dried fruit, and vegetables that would usually be cooked (e.g. broccoli and zucchini both work well raw in a salad). Most people stick with the same ‘garden salad’ at home, so this can be a real treat that’s also healthy.

Desserts

Fruit and chocolate fondue

What a fancy way to serve fruit! Cut up fruit into cubes and serve with skewers or forks on the side. Melt some chocolate in a small bowl in the microwave for your guests to dip their fruit into. You could even try white and dark chocolate for something a little different.

Fruit crumble

Another great dessert for multiple people is a dish of apple crumble. Get our recipe here.
