The Importance of Stretching And Mobility

Stretching and mobility go hand in hand and are often referred to as Range of Motion. You may be aware of how flexible you feel when you’re dancing, but this mobility will impact all areas of your life. This can be identified in your ability to perform every day activities such as, bending over, tying your shoe laces or reaching to the top shelf of your cupboard.

Stretching increases the length of a muscle, which often leads to greater joint mobility. This is because joints are often moved by the contraction and lengthening of a muscle. This means in order to perform movements with more ease and comfort, we need to stretch more. This will increase mobility and give you a much greater Range of Motion.
